Tony leaves school to go work on Broadway in New York, and Joe and Betsy end the year happily "almost engaged.".

But it was wonderful when Joe Willard kissed her. It's going to be a wonderful senior year! Of course, I knew I would as soon as I met Joe, and that one of the books in the series had his name in the title. A football star, Ralph Maddox, moves to Deep Valley, and begins to go with Tib.
